APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF ABATTOIR OPERATORS

ABATTOIR OPERATORS
All abattoir operators must register as producers with the Meat Board of Namibia.  The procedures for the application of registration can be found below.
Classes of abattoirs
A-class: Abattoir with export status as certified by the Directorate of Veterinary Services.
B-class: Abattoir which produces meat for the local market. This abattoir has quality management systems in place, and also implements the classification of meat.
C-class: Abattoir which produces meat for the local market.  This abattoir complies with minimum hygiene requirements and does not implement classification of meat.

For each application, the Abattoir Registration form must be completed, together with Form C. All documents as stipulated in the procedures document must be submitted together with the application form and Form C.
